2 tablespoons vegetable oil, or as needed
2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
6 potatoes, peeled and diced
4 medium yellow onions, sliced
1 ½ cups water
2 beef bouillon cubes
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add oil. Cook stew meat until browned on all side, 5 to 10 minutes.

  2. Transfer browned meat to the insert of a slow cooker. Add potatoes, onion, water, bouillon cubes, salt, and pepper.

  3. Cover and cook on Low power for 8 hours.
