Directions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir onion in hot butter until translucent, 5 to 8 minutes. Stir black-eyed peas into onion, add processed cheese. Stir until dip is hot and the cheese is melted and smooth, about 5 minutes.

This recipe is easy and great for parties, especially for the New Year's. This dip tastes good hot or cold. If you want a spicy dip, use 1 can black-eyed peas and 2 cans jalapeno black-eyed peas. To keep warm, put dip in slow cooker. Eat with tortilla chips or corn chips.
