Ingredients

1 ½ pounds ground beef
4 slices bacon, diced
¼ cup chopped onion, or to taste
½ cup beef broth
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon water, or as needed
ground black pepper to taste
2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
2 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1 large green bell pepper, chopped

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef and bacon in the hot skillet until browned and beef is crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add onion and cook until soft, about 6 minutes. Do not drain.

  2. Combine broth, soy sauce, and water in a bowl. Pour over beef mixture and season with pepper. Layer cabbage, potatoes, tomatoes, celery, and bell pepper in the pot. Cover and cook over high heat for 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low and cook until potatoes are tender, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve.
