Grandma's Hot Hominy recipe

Ingredients

1 (20 ounce) can white hominy
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped jalapeno pepper, or to taste
½ cup sour cream
1 tablespoon butter, or to taste
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. Combine hominy, garlic, and jalapeno in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until hominy is tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Strain out liquid and pour hominy mixture into baking dish. Stir sour cream and butter into hominy mixture, top with Cheddar cheese.

  3. Bake in preheated oven until cheese melts, about 25 minutes.
