Fried Manchego Cheese recipe

1 jalapeno chile, seeded, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped
12 ounces Manchego cheese, cut into two wedges
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cold water
¼ cup crushed ice
vegetable oil for deep frying, or as needed

Directions

  1. Combine jalapeno and cilantro together in a bowl. Coat both Manchego cheese wedges with the mixture.

  2. Mix all-purpose flour, water, and crushed ice together in a bowl until there are no lumps in the flour. Dip cheese wedges into the batter.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Dip cheese wedges into hot oil and fry until batter is crispy and browned, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer fried cheese to paper towels layered on a plate to drain excess oil.
